Momma's Tri

We know our blog is supposed to be about us, Gia and Ella, but we're so proud of what Momma did that we just had to share! On Valentine's Day, Momma competed in her first triathlon! It was indoor, so she had to swim in the pool for 10 minutes, then ride on the stationary bike for 30 minutes, then run on the treadmill for 20 minutes. We cheered her on the whole time! We think Momma did a great job! She says she could have done better, but it was only her first time. We can't wait to cheer Momma on in her next triathlon, which is in the Poconos on May 22nd. We already plan to wear our cheerleader costumes and take our pompoms to the next one!

Here is Momma, ready to swim!

Momma is in the second lane wearing the white cap!

Go, Momma, Go!

Now Momma is getting ready to bike...she only had 10 minutes to get out of the pool, dry off, change and be ready to ride! Daddy thought that would be impossible for her...

Pedal, pedal, pedal!

Run!

Yay, Momma! You did it!
We celebrated Momma's accomplishment with icecream at Friendly's!!

Blizzard 2010!!!

We just experienced our first blizzard! This is the most snow we (Gia and Ella) have ever seen! We had a chance to play in it a little bit, but by the afternoon there was just too much wind to be outside. We will definately head out today to enjoy some sledding!

Momma, Ella and Lucky braved the weather to take some measurements...

Ella needed a little assistance as the snow was up to her waist...

Here goes...

At this point in the day (around 3pm) we had 19 inches...and it was still snowing...

Here's our swingset...you can't even see the bottom of the slide or the swings...

Momma's poor snowed-in car...

The weight of the snow and the strength of the wind broke many branches off our huge pine tree...

Mommom somehow kept the birds fed though...

Here's Mommom and Poppop's house...

Where'd Mommom and Poppop's car and truck go?

Here's the back of our house...look how "Snow Mountain" has grown...

Crazy icicles...

Just to put things in perspective...Lucky is Not laying down...

Looking for his stick in over 2 feet of snow...he found it!

Hard to see, but 26 inches. It was much higher in spots because of drifting!
What an AWESOME snow storm!!

Snow!!

After our ski vacation, this is what we came home to...over 2 feet of snow! Boy did we have a blast playing in this!

See, the snow is as high as our booties :)

The plow made a HUGE pile in Mommom and Poppop's driveway.
We called it "Snow Mountain."

Gia on "Snow Mountain"

Here's Momma trying to sled down our hill, but there was way too much snow!

Lucky loves the snow, sledding too!
We call him a sledding, snow puppy.

Here's our house, covered in snow

Our snow covered swingset!
If you think this is alot of snow, this is nothin'! Less than a week later, we got hit with 2 more snow storms piling ANOTHER 2 feet on top of this. It's a good thing we LOVE snow! Stay tuned for Blizzard 2010 pics coming soon!!!

Winter Ski Vacation

Last weekend we went on a winter ski vacation. We traveled to Lehigh Valley to enjoy a fun hotel stay and some skiing! This was our first time skiing. It sure is alot of work. We were very good skiers! Momma agrees, but she says skiing with a 4 and 5 year old is an exhausting adventure and next time we'll stick to the hotel pool...

Even though it was vacation, we still like to help out!

We took a few games with us to the hotel.
Here we are enjoying some Candy Land before breakfast!

And here is Uncle Brad stealing Ella's breakfast...

Yummy breakfast before skiing

Ready to go to the mountain!

Momma and the girls ready for a ski adventure...

Gia was a natural!

Ella, always smiling, with B-mom...Ella did lots of backwards skiing, laughing and falling over! Oh, and she got to ride the Ski Patrol snowmobile...Momma said it was an adventure...

Here's Uncle Brad snowboarding

Uncle Brad and his crazy hat!

We were the best skiers on the mountain!

We loved the ski lodge! There was live music that we sang and danced to when we finished skiing! And lots of hot chocolate!!

We had to get in one last swim before we headed home (to over 2 feet of snow). If we look sleepy in this picture, it's because it was 8 in the morning. Don't we have a great Momma for taking us swimming so early?!?!
